1.     Budget Status – David

       David reviewed budget status

       Possible Governor 4% restriction

       Estimated $288,000 total reduction/restriction for MCC

       Continued challenge to meet increased costs w/reduced allocations

       Electricity costs shared as an example


2.     Enrollment status – Alvin

       1871 current enrollment; breakdown by majors shared.

       110 ahead of same time last year

       200 paid; 7/17 is first payment purge date

       644 current summer enrollment (last year 645)

       Dept chairs will be asked to remind students to pay tuition before deadlines

3.     Student Services vacancy status – Alvin

       3rd re-advertisement for dorm manager in process

       Student life position recently closed

       Mental health counselor ongoing

       EOC counselor ongoing

       Alvin to update on status of Perkins Early Alert position

4.     Kulanaa`o status – Alvin & Katie

       HI residents being offered $2175 pay in full “kamaaina rate” vs the $3255 normal rate

       20 students have made deposits for Fall 2008

       Brochures being redone

       Challenges to fill both Kulanaa`o & college-owned dorms were discussed

       Continued recruitment & advertising needed

       Alvin & Katie asked to update Clyde on status

5.     Community Services - Lori

       Lori reported a good cycle for OCET; 66 classes for month of June; goal achieved for rapid response funds for 322 managers trained; funding allocated for an additional year for an increased 700 managers; green classes are popular; continued marketing & promotions in progress; success report shared as an attachment


6.     University Center – Karen & Brad

       Transfer student defined as when student changes home campus in Banner & has T (transfer)

       UH Center update shared as an attachment


7.     Publicity updates - Katie

       Progress report shared as an attachment


8.     Weekend College – Pat & Mona

       Updates and progress shared; five informational sessions scheduled.

       20-23 or more students goal for cohort


9.     Paulauea - Herman

       Update & progress status shared

       Currently waiting for UHF recommendation/acceptance


10.  University Center & Outreach Education Center Advertising - Karen

       Shared new designs & direction for marketing in the Pacific Business News & other media venues


11.  General Updates

       Bev – Media Center seeking ways to “go green”

       Mona – updates on classes being requested & student challenges in transportation & employment

       David provided updates on campus R&M projects

       Pat – shared updates via an attachment

       Summer School – 26 out of 32 classes were held

       2nd summer session – 16 classes being offered

       Deficits status : OCET & PACE progressing well

       Culinary – Suzette working w/C.Speere

       Science Building-- $25 million received & architects working to meet budget
