Welcome to the SPRING 2011 New Lecturer Orientation:
ASSESSMENT BEYOND THE TEST
On behalf on the UH Maui College faculty, administration, and staff, WELCOME to the Spring 2011 semester, and this professional development workshop. This orientation session will focus on many topics we feel may be useful to you in your endeavors here at UH Maui College.
Many forms of assessment exist and some traditional assessment methods, such as multiple-choice / true-false or short answer tests or essays tend to be a regular choice for assessment. Yet, other forms, such as project or problem based assessments may be more appropriate and effective in evaluating the instructional effectiveness and and students learning success.
Other topics covered will be First Week Success Resources that will include Making a Great First Impression, 101 Things to Do in The First 3 Weeks, and others.
In addition, various Campus Support topics and resources will be covered; including the highly acclaimed Scenarios online instructional networking group.
